Biography
Laura Buch focuses on developing an understanding of the big ideas, rather than merely developing procedural skills. Conceptual understanding is developed through thinking about mathematical ideas, how these ideas are interrelated, and how they can be applied in various real-life situations. In her courses, she spends a significant amount of time in discussions related to key examples that focus on understanding the meaning of the mathematical concepts capitalizing on a student's prior knowledge and preparing them for future learning.
